2020 South Dakota State Pedal Pull--- CANCELLED FOR 2020, DUE TO COVID-19 VIRUS

May 26, 2020

To all South Dakota Pedal Pull Participants, Fans and Supporters:

On Monday, May 25th the National Pedal Pullers board of directors had a meeting via ZOOM, to discuss the current situation due to the Covid-19 virus and the safety and well-being of the children.  It was decided it would be best to cancel the National Pedal Pull for 2020.

Due to this decision, the South Dakota State Pedal Pull will also be cancelled for 2020.  We feel it is our responsibility to make this difficult decision based on the current CDC guidelines regarding large gathering restrictions.

This does not mean that there will not be any unsanctioned pulls, as individual events will be at the pullers discretion.  Those pullers choosing to hold unsanctioned events will be expected to follow all current sanitizing and safety recommendations to ensure the safety of participants.

The National Pedal Pullers have decided to allow 13 year old contestants that qualify for the national pull to participate in the 2021 National Pedal Pull.  The kids are missing out on so much already this year, we do not want our oldest participants to miss out on their last year pulling.

The National Pedal Pullers have also decided to allow 1st place to 4th place qualifiers at the state pedal pulls in 2021, to qualify to pull at the 2021 National Pedal Pull.

This has not been an easy decision for us to make.  At this time, with the amount of uncertainty surrounding all of us, we had to put the health and safety of all our Pedal Pull Families as our Number ONE priority.

We thank you for your support and understanding and hope that you all remain safe and healthy.
